The generativity of the void

μηδεν | Greek

Medèn from Greek: the emptiness, the nothingness. The void protagonist of this work. A reflection on the female identity that comes from an "empty" body. What remains of the woman when she is deprived of her womb and her breasts? The body lacks its life-generating parts but in that emptiness, in that lack, it finds life itself. The emptiness of the body becomes space for the soul, a place where lack generates and becomes fruitful.

“So there is an intangible space, the free void. If it were not there, in no way could things move; in fact what is proper of the bodies, making obstacle and resistance, at any moment would be valid for every object; therefore nothing could proceed, because no body would begin to recede.”
